Maisey’s Shelf
Featured
When Maisey’s room got repainted, she decided she wanted to do a mural as a highlight wall. The wall was already a teal blue-green so she tape-masked it and painted in the shapes. Cool results! Next, she decided she wanted a bookshelf that would echo the mural at the other end of the room. We chose a section of triangles from which to fashion a funky shelf system. Can you guess which area of the mural was the inspiration?
Yes, it required a bit of wood filler to make some of the odd angles appear to fit well, but overall, I was amazed at how well it all came together. We used heavier fasteners in some strategic places to lend strength to the whole, and this included a mix of fat masonry nails, heavy wood screws and long brads.
