Yes, this is a pie, not a cake. It is one of my favorite pies to make … an apple pie! I love the lattice top because it is so fun to weave, allows the apples to peek through, and makes for a deliciously crunchy top.
Okay, I caved in and jumped on the merchandizing wagon … and it’s not an amazing work of art, really, but it sure did get an enthusiastic response from my little birthday girl that year. Nailed it!
